If we don’t speak up, we won’t have a voice to speak. If we don’t speak up, they have already taken our voice. If we don’t speak up, our silence is the “amen” to what others are saying. If we don’t speak up, we’ll never know that our voices are not alone.

Strength in Brokenness
Today has been one of those typical, routine days –at least on the surface. But, inside? Well, I’ve had that steady drumbeat of sadness and pain mixed with hope and peace. Dear, dear sis, today is your Heaven Birthday! We all miss you so much and I wish so bad you were here. But BigContinue reading “Strength in Brokenness”
Flicker of Life, Flicker of Hope
A few years ago I purchased a house that was a fixer-upper. At that time I didn’t know how much of a fixer-upper it was, but what I did know was how much of a near hopeless fixer-upper my own life was. I had just gone through a tragic and unexpected loss, and I neededContinue reading “Flicker of Life, Flicker of Hope”
You Can’t Take It With You (Or Can You?)
I stand pondering in sheer confusion and hurt as I look out my backdoor to my property line, and contemplate the current “neighborhood war” that’s in full-swing. If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a million times, “You can’t take it with you.” And then I also remember the old addage, “you enter theContinue reading “You Can’t Take It With You (Or Can You?)”
An Invitation to You
I realize I am texting very late for some of you, and sort of late late for the rest of us. So, for that I apologize. However, I have a time sensitive invitation I feel on my heart that I need to share with you. I was wondering if any of you would join meContinue reading “An Invitation to You”
Crossing Into Heaven Into God’s Delight!
Today is the one-year anniversary of Rudolph’s crossing over into heaven. This past year has been painful. As I woke up this morning, I decided to take a sunrise walk along the river to listen to my heart grieve. I knew my burning streams of tears would be soothed by the cold strong currents ofContinue reading “Crossing Into Heaven Into God’s Delight!”
The Sky Has No Limit
Its a beautiful morning as I sit here looking out across the river and see the glowing pink of the approaching sunrise sweep across the canvas of a new day. The tall green grasses with purple tips are unswayed in the crisp morning frost. The sleepy birds start chattering to each other; and, I soakContinue reading “The Sky Has No Limit”
Who Am I?
You don’t know me. You really don’t know me. I’m that forgettable face that slips into one of the services on a Sunday morning and worships with the rest of the congregation. Sometimes tears slide down my face, and sometimes I raise my hands and worship my Redeemer. Yet I’m just one of the manyContinue reading “Who Am I?”
Election Ponderings
I stumbled across across the following pondering I wrote right after the 2016 election. It seems appropriate and applicable going into the final stretch of the 2020 election. November 10, 2016: today my heart is churning and my mind is going a million different directions. Throughout the entire election campaign I was never once ableContinue reading “Election Ponderings”
In My Story
God is in the story. God is in my story. He is in our story. It is so easy to be overwhelmed with circumstances, but God comes into the story when I choose to give Him the pen and let Him write my story. And when He’s the Author, I know the story will endContinue reading “In My Story”
