It’s Thanksgiving Day, and I count my blessings.
I am thankful for the big empty holes in my heart, because it means I have known love.
I am thankful for the silent, messy dance floor, because it means I have celebrated and lived life.
I am thankful for the dirty, worn out shoes, because it means I have walked, I have run, I have climbed mountains, I have traveled great journeys.
I am thankful for the empty nest, because it means there were wings that took flight.
I am thankful for the broken strings, because it means that even though the music stopped, I have heard the language of the soul.
I am thankful for the pain as it reminds me of my weakness and God’s strength.
I am thankful because God will answer prayers. He will restore. He will redeem. He will make all things beautiful in His time. What a blessed Thanksgiving.
